A taste of what you'll find

Eight of the 150 spots. The kind you'd only find if you knew where to look.

Every place on this map is somewhere I have eaten myself. Here is a small sample of what is waiting inside.

Chiyoda
🍜 Tsukemen Zuppa

A one-man-show ramen counter serving generous, hearty bowls with actual vegan and gluten-free options. Finally, somewhere to bring all your friends.

Koto
☕️ Nomad Coffee Tokyo

Rooftop café with Skytree views. Creative fruit-infused coffees and a coconut latte worth the detour.

Chuo
🍶 38Kiosk

A tiny sake bar tucked in an alley where you bring food from nearby stalls. Staff teach you about sake while serving remarkably fresh oysters. Locals only, surprisingly affordable.

Chuo
🥞 Brown Cow Cafe

Australian-style all-day brunch that gets the eggs benedict and pancakes right. A reliable weekend spot.

Shinjuku
🌮 Tacos Trap'

Artisanal tacos with freshly made tortillas, watched from the counter. Great mezcal cocktails. Confirmed legit by actual Mexicans.

Minato
🍕 Pizza da Vinci Tokyo

Sit facing the oven, watch the chef work, smell the Neapolitan pizzas baking. Incredible mozzarella. Save room for the homemade tiramisu.

Shibuya
🍛 Bakumatsu Curry

Farm-fresh vegetables in a deeply aromatic soup curry. Spice level adjustable. One of those places you go back to.

Bunkyo
🥐 TENERA Bread & Meals

A rustic French-style bakery that runs out early because it is that good. Flaky croissants and a cinnamon roll worth the trip.

Why this map exists

What makes it different.

01
🛡️ No tourist traps.

Skip the queues and the inflated prices. Every spot on this map is somewhere I have eaten myself. No sponsored entries, no inflated ratings, no places that made it because of Instagram likes.

02
🕵️ Hidden before they blow up.

Find the spots the algorithms miss. Most spots have under 1,000 reviews. That is not a coincidence. You get them before the crowds arrive.

03
🔄 Always updated.

Tokyo moves fast. I keep the map fresh by removing permanently closed spots and replacing them with new recommendations, ensuring you never show up to a shuttered door.

Questions

Before you buy.

Do I own the map after purchase?
+
Yes, forever. Once you save it to Google Maps, it stays in your account even if I update the original. You own your saved copy permanently.
Will it interfere with my existing Google Maps?
+
No. It is a separate saved list in Google Maps. It does not replace or affect anything you already have. You can access it anytime under Saved in Google Maps, and delete it whenever you want.
Does it work on Android?
+
All 150 spots are accessible on Android, but the tag filtering is an iPhone feature for now. If filtering is important to you, this map is best purchased for use on iPhone. Google is expected to roll it out to other platforms and when they do, you will get it automatically.
Can I share it with friends?
+
The link is yours to keep. If your friends find it useful, I would appreciate them buying their own copy. It is what allows me to keep building more maps.
